Dear Mother & Father and all,
I will now take the pleasure to write yous a few lines hopeing that it will find everyone in good Health as I am at this writing. I have moovid to another Hospital I had a long ride on one of our American Red Cross Hospital trains for a few days. I enjoyed my ride very well as the wound I have is just a small gash on the side of my thigh and doesnt tie me any pain it is raining here today. but I am not in it the ward I am in is a large building with nice white beds and sheets and many orderlies to serve us boys in anything they can do Our wounds are given the best of care there is of Doctors and Nurses to take care of us and give us every pleasure that is possible there is plenty of good story books and I am busy from morn till night reading I hope you’e don’t think I am sufering when I am passing the days in pleasure.
it is nice and warm here it was a little cold in the part of France I was at when I got wounded. I am very many miles from the Front and it is nice and warm here. We get plenty of good eats here and believe me I certainly have got a great appitite sea breeze is the cause of it. I got a letter from you and one from Father Germaine just before I got wounded I am going to write to him today. I wrote to Charley the other day. I want to also write a few lines to Myrtle tell everyone I said Hellow and for Johnny and the rest to write to me and tell me all the news. I guess you’s re busy in the coal business now. the last letter I got from Charley he said he was thinking that he might buy the store it went up for sale in Sept. I am just wondering if he hasn’t bought it and is down there running it now. I know him when he has a notion of buying it Ill bet he gets it. ha. ha. Well I believe he would make good money in the store well I hope yous all have a happy Thanksgivin day as I expect (?) Well I guess I will close for this time as I want to write to Myrtle and I cant think of much more to write this time but I will write once every week. Well I will close for this time good bye
